Track Day

Wonderful Wednesday! Training is going well. Today, I will be doing a track workout.......yuck! Kidding, but out of all workouts, this is the most challenging for me. I once asked my tri coach how I can get faster on the run and bike and he told me these famous words...."To get faster on the bike and the run, you must run and bike faster". Profound! Anyway, 2 one-mile repeats on 6:00 with 200m recovery, 4 800's on 3', 4 400's on 85 sec. All this with 15' warmup and cool down.

Today went well. Went on the radio from 8:50-9:30 and it was great. Talked about how important the brain/spinal cord/body connection is. For your heart to beat, lungs to breathe, cuts to heal, food to digest, etc....you have to have no disconnects or blockages in your spine and nerves. Health and wellness start with the brain, your mindset based on the correct understanding, correct food and fitness. That's right; it is a LIFESTYLE not a sick management model. This thought process is what clears out the hospitals and takes communities to a new healthy and vitalistic level. We all dserve to live in a place like that.

Bayshore 1/2 Marathon Weekend

It was an absolutely awesome weekend; the weather, the race, friends.......I took the race out a little quick. At mile 4, Iwas clocked at 24:10 which is about 6:03 pace; wayyyy too fast for the way that I trained. I slowed it back down but by mile 9, I felt Mr. fatigue set in. I kept telling myself "light legs" repeatedly and made it to the tape in 1:31 which was 4th in my age group(40-44) and 1:40 better than last year's time. Chalk another race up to experience. I am the most grateful for being able to run and celebrate with my friends and their spouses.....that makes it all worthwhile.

Tons of Snow

Well, the students were unable to get up to BC for the weekend but they all made it home safe for the white Christmas. Snow is like lemons to alot of people but what do you do with lemons in life........that's right, make lemonade. Or if you are diabetic, you just throw the lemons out and run an extra couple of hours which is exactly what I did. This morning was absolutely gorgeous. I am training for an ultramarathon in Indiana this December 27th. This is my first so anyone throwing prayers up and out, I'll take all that you got! Have a GREAT WEEKEND and I will talk at you all next week.

Students

This weekend will be a great one. 7 Chiropractic students will take residence at the McCullough house and live life with us to learn more about how our office works. We are also going to train on office procedures as well as the "passion and purpose" factor. The most important part is just loving on those youngsters......what an incredible opportunity..........for us.
